Drops of Youth Serum Review

by - May 03, 2016

I have never really use any of The Body Shop products and this is a rare occurrence whereby I'm willing to spent quarter of thousand bucks on a single item. Since March this year, I have been using a new serum by The Body Shop which is part of their 'Drops of Youth' range. I bought it for exactly RM245 for a 50ml bottle.
Sounds hell lot of money for such a little amount huh? /omg

If I'm being honest, I didn't wanna buy it. It was too expensive. Actually the only reason I went in to the shop was solely bcos I wanted to buy a shaving cream for my dad's birthday. Then I went in and saw the whole range so I thought it'd be great to get him all which includes facial wash, shaving cream and after shave. However, at that time there was a 'Buy 3 Free 1, Buy 6 Free 3' promo so I was suggested to get another one item. The salesperson showed me their latest product for acne treatment.
Well, who wouldn't notice these lumps of redness on my skin... /sweat

She did a lil' test on my face and found out I have vvv dry skin that it's lack of hydrating elements. Which is why a serum was recommended. At first. The recommendations kept adding and she insisted me on buying almost the whole range. Of course I won't... I ain't rich nor am I THAT crazy.
In the end, I spent almost an hour in the shop deciding which one should I really buy. But in fact, it was actually me trying to refuse. /blur

REVIEW STARTS HERE

It was filled up until its neck. The pic shows after 2 months of daily usage.
Having using it for a whole 2 months, I gotta say my pimples do start to reduce. I use it both day and night for the first two weeks but then started to be lazy and only apply it in the morning. I can see the blemishes on my face began to fade... though not exactly fade away. It shows positive feedback and I gotta say it kinda worth spending money on.

Here's a 360 degree look of the box:

Apply it after cleansing and toning before moisturising

The thing that impress me most is that when I've been using it, the pimples that have been popping out are getting smaller. It is no longer the huge ass one that everybody can tell even being 5 meters away from you. It's the one that only shows redness when appearing. Idk bout you but my pimples are previously 'acne' pimples and not 'pimple' pimples so if you have those tiny red lumps on your forehead or chin or slightly on your cheeks, mine is worse.

The annoying thing about huge ass pimples are that it hurts! it takes FOREVER to fade. Serum like this somewhat helps to prevent that from becoming worse. So what I can conclude is that, it does its job pretty well - it hydrates the skin, it renews the skin making blemishes fade faster and allows other products to work well. But... it costs a lot of bucks. That's all I gotta say.

I give it a 9/10 only because the size is smaller than my palm but it costs bigger than a family dinner for a week. /dignose
