As someone who love watching k-dramas and listening to k-pop, I feel like VPN is becoming an essential tool for international fans.

Sometimes, k-entertainment can be very restricting to certain regions that makes it unnecessarily hard for some of us to access them. So in this post I will be showing you how I personally overcome that!

First, you need to find a VPN that works for you. What is VPN, you may ask?

VPN stands for virtual private network. In layman's term, it's basically used to hide your actual device's IP address with another IP address (thus the name "virtual") to trick the internet into thinking your location is not where you actually are. Some use it for safety purposes (like when using public wifi), others use it for this kind of accessibility purposes.

My personal fav is Psiphon. It was recommended to me when I needed to access restricted contents (like KissAsian to watch kdramas) when using the student's wifi.

Here is the download link https://psiphon3.com/en/download.html. You first need to download and install it in your PC. I personally don't really use the app version, so it might work differently through the app.

Once you've downloaded and installed Psiphon, you can simply run the application every time you want to access any restricted content.

This is how the desktop app should look like when running.
You can simply disconnect it to get your local IP address back. Easy as that!

However, this VPN do have a limited list of countries you can connect to. For my case, South Korea is not in the list, so Korean contents are still not directly available for me. However, contents that is available to USA is easily available once I turn this on. Most of the time, that worked well enough for me.

I never really had a need to change to other VPN in the 5 years of using this, but feel free to try other software if this doesn't work for you.

That is it for this little tutorial, hope you could benefit from it.

If you are on a laptop and you can hear an annoying buzzing sound every time you plugged in your earphone (like mine did), here's a quick solution!

Check the laptop's battery at the bottom of your laptop and make sure it is LOCKED. Even if you have no battery inserted (like when you have the power on), just make sure the slider thingy isn't unlock. And that should solve it. Well at least it did in my case...

The lil slider with this symbol means 'locked'.
I've been thinking that it must've been my earphone that's having issues, but the weird thing is it's newly bought! I tried all the noise cancelling options yet nothing worked. Turns out the battery locking was the problem and not the earphone or sound system smh.

UPDATE: Turns out this method doesn't work for me anymore like it once did. Instead try to restart your PC, maybe that'll help.

Where did I find this promoter job?
Facebook events and promoters group pages which you can simply join if you like. Usually without any issue.

But the real question is HOW did I get it??
Getting a job is like playing a game. You gotta live by the rules. In this prospect, the timing needs to be right.

When there's a job posting, the sooner you get in touch, the better. I applied to maybe around 20 jobs before I finally get a respond. Usually the ones that will not reply are those on job portals. Mainly bcos by the time you came across anything and submit your profile, there would be tons of application already being sent. And you wouldn't even be aware of your lateness bcos they would not usually show the time and date of the job posting for you to keep track.

I applied mine about an hour or 2 after the job posting and got a call an hour later. Special thanks to Ka Mun for coming across the post 2 minutes after they've posted on FB ahah. Also if you don't get a reply within 2 working days, move on. Considering I got a call so quickly, I'd say they'll contact you back within the same day if you are really needed.

How's the pay?
From the ones I see, ranging from RM80 to RM120 per day. Usually RM100/day. For a 11-9 job, it is a good deal.

Which day of the week should I expect to work as a promoter?
Weekends. And holidays. Expecting a promoters's job on weekdays is quite limited for malls and hypermarkets because the crowd isn't as many, so the need for promoters can be very minimal. Plus, take note that jobs on weekdays as a promoter will be even more tiring, when the pay are equally the same. You gotta stand and wait for some sort of crowd to make an ambush, but at the same time you know it ain't happening bcos everyone else's working.

What self-profile should I send in?
Usually they would ask for basic details (name, age, IC, address, etc.) and the crucial of all - your working experiences. Having a resume that you can just copy paste around is good enough for this kind of job.

Before applying for promoter's jobs, it's best to have a proper part time beforehand so you can get a picture of what these jobs usually need (like doing product sampling, in-store promoting, concept of FIFO and etc.). Basically, having basic working background would boost your chance on getting the job. This is because employers usually need promoters in an urgent manner and training a complete newbie isn't exactly easy and can be time consuming. Some jobs may be easy enough to not require any sort of experience, but just keep this in mind.

Do they provide training?
Some yes, but don't expect a step-by-step run down of what-to-do kind of training. You'll probably just be given a quick briefing regarding the product you are promoting and things that you should know (like sales target and the targeting audience). However, your actual work usually requires more of self-learning on what to do because most things they would've assumed that you already know.

I am a Malay/ Chinese/ Indian. I am a male/ female. I only know Malay/ English/ Mandarin. Will there be a job for me?
Absolutely. However based on what I see, most job calls for female, then mostly Chinese. Next is speaking in Mandarin/ Cantonese. But if you aren't female or aren't Chinese or don't know any Chinese Language, it's OK. You just need to find harder. Those are just the majority aspects for this kind of job.

That's all from me. Good luck on your job hunting! Remember, being a bum isn't always bad... Lol jk, go get a job!

Hola everyone /hihi

As a Computer Science student, I understand the need to own Microsoft Visio in your own PCs. And sometimes, for free and almost effortlessly. ME TOO. I personally just finished installing and cracking everything by myself. Now, I'm here to share my profound discovery LEGGO!

STEP 1

Installation, duh.

Where and how to install? Firstly, since I am downloading whatever that is from the internet using my university's wifi, it's most likely that many websites are blocked for being 'illegal' or to prevent virus and whatnot. So, if you are facing a similar situation. Here's what I did.

Click here to go to the website. Then scroll down til you see all these download links.

Ok, so from here. Initially, you need to share either via Twitter, Facebook or Google+. Then a download would automatically starts. Click here (in case you aren't caring enough to 'share').

The file that I downloaded is a Visio 2013 64-bit btw. You can go to the link for the 32-bit.

STEP 2

What's the product key? How to activate it?

For this step, I found a product key that worked up until the activation process. The product key was valid but later on, not(?) Idk what happened but no problem was solved.

If you're curious, here's the product key THAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME!!!

 MT7YN-TMV9C-7DDX9-64W77-B7R4D

I got it from a video's description box (clickable). The instruction is also included and I did try the phone call method. But the Confirmation ID itself is said to be invalid, so that for sure can't be help.

After the first trial didn't work, I needa look for another valid product key but to no avail. Instead, I found another method from another video (clickable).

In the video, you need to go to their website here (clickable) and download KMSAuto Lite Portable TEST4 (clickable) as shown in the video. The rest you basically gotta extract the RAR file and click the 'bla bla bla Office' button then it will do all the cracking for you til it's written COMPLETED!!

FINALLY

NOW, YOUR VISIO 2013 IS COMPLETELY ACTIVATED!!

Disclaimer: No video, downloads or files shared were mine. I am only here to spread the word.

I hope you find this self-experience method useful. Any inquiries just comment, the comment sections are pretty dead yknow haha :D

As of last month, the Kelana Jaya LRT line had officially been extended WOOHOO!! This news is such a thrill for me who's been depending on LRT to go to literally anywhere. KL and PJ transportation system is so convenient and vvv maju now. Life in Klang Valley is such an ease when compared to other states *cough* Melaka *cough* when it comes to travelling around. There's LRTs - which includes the Kelana Jaya line, Ampang line and the new Sri Petaling line, KTM, monorail and yadayada here in KL.

So last week, I made a short solo trip to Subang Parade on the extended LRT line. I tried googling a lil info before going there because I've never go there using public transport and I don't wanna get lost lol. If you're interested to know about the LRT fares and whatnot, pls refer the MyRapid's website for further info. FYI, from Taman Bahagia (where I came from) to Subang Jaya station costs RM2.60 with Touch'nGo or myRapid card but would be RM2.90 if without. Go cashless to save a few pennies!

The new updated route (KJ line)

What you'll see as soon as you step out

Subang Jaya bus station

Digital One Entrance is where you'll end up before entering Subang Parade. The LRT is still peaceful for now but in a few months, I'm sure the crowd will naturally expand. Most malls are so easily accessible via public transport around the area nowadays. To the people residing around there, berseronok pun berpada-pada la ye...

So after I got a new Windows 10 laptop I knew I needed to re-install Photoshop CS6 and Sony Vegas Pro 13 on it, however I obviously forgot how to do so. I have now successfully installed both programs after a few trial and errors. Mostly I just googled and watch videos on YouTube. I'll share those videos that worked for me. Different PCs might be different than one another so yours might be different than mine KEEP THAT IN MIND. What I share is how I got to solve my PC's problem, ok?

Let's start with Photoshop CS6.

*The vid was deleted I'm only left with the link. Soz.

Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9n1c6xokjvzo5gp/AADqXpqtBw1t1vJS3c63dVFMa?dl=0

I personally didn't face any problems on this one so hope you don't too. Next let's move on to Sony Vegas Pro 13!

*The vid was also deleted haiiih

Download link from my laptop : https://mega.nz/#F!QAk2UCaY!LSDQV5usw6UUpVcD44VDAg

In the video shown, I was only able to successfully installed the program but failed to run it. My situation at first was the patch folder had a problem - there was nothing in it! I found out I needed to turn off my firewall. I had McAfee installed so I'll show you a vid that specifically tells how to switch it off.

Once it's turned off, if you can run the program then great BUT if you faced something like I did whereby the patch given didn't work then continue reading.

I needed another patch number, serial number and authentication code to run the Sony Vegas Pro 13.

WATCH VIDEO DIRECTLY ON YOUTUBE

This helped a lot. Then what? ANOTHER PROBLEM! /floor

I couldn't get it to run and it kept showing me "Vegas Pro has stopped working" pop-up.

"But these vids are for Vegas Pro 11"
YESYES I'm well aware of that BUT I did made the changes to mine just like in those vids so I gave these links just in case it made any difference to the last video below (if you decided not to follow the 2 vids above).

After using this method, IT CAN RUN. Finally. I can now open the program and run it as usual.

I hope this saves you a little bit of your time. If you have any problem regarding the solutions in the videos, hit me up! I'll try to help you with whatever I know. Have fun editing!
