During Christmas day this year I went to have a lil celebration for my 8As in PMR. My aunt decided to treat me lamb at Cozy House Restaurant in Great Eastern Mall, KL since my dad told her that I love eating mutton or lamb so much. FYI, my family and I had never been to the mall before.

From what I know, Great Eastern is an insurance company. So the company must have been rich enough to build their very own mall. But anyway, it was also my first time dining at Cozy House.

We came at around 11:30am if I'm not mistaken. When we arrived there were barely anyone in the restaurant, I only saw like a family or two in there.

I ordered the black pepper lamb chop.

Mah food!!
We waited for about 10 minutes or so until the drink came. I ordered a chocolate milkshake for myself and the black pepper lamb chop as the main dish. By the time my food arrived, I noticed more people filling the emptiness in the restaurant and it's not even 1pm yet.

FOOD
Well, I've tried a few lamb chop and to be honest this one doesn't disappoint me. I know the food presentation doesn't look as expensive as the price they offer but the quality of the lamb definitely said otherwise. Normally, the lamb chops I ate sometimes too thin or too hard to chew but this is neither. The meat is soft but thick... It was cook just nicely. The gravy was also thick and not watery which is exactly how I like my black pepper sauce to be. There was 3 pieces of lamb on my plate and when I'm eating my 2nd piece, I can tell that I am almost full which is good since it shows how satisfying the food was.

Then after the food we had a banana split as dessert. Nothing special bout it.

By the time we ordered the dessert the place was fully-packed. I was surprised by how famous this restaurant is lol. Also, I'm not gonna say anything bout the meals that my family ate since I forgot what they ordered so don't bother to know. And for the price, I think it's very reasonable since the quality of my food really satisfy my appetite and tummy.

If I were to give any star for this restaurant, maybe I would give ☆☆☆ out of 5.  The reason is because the lack of effort in their food presentation and the service given was lack of friendliness since the waitress who served us didn't even smile. But other than that, I would definitely recommend this place in the future.

P.S. All photos are taken by my dad so credits for the non-quality pics goes to him.

Melynn.

Finally I've collected my PMR result yesterday. I managed to get 8freakingAs!!
Psftt, I know it doesn't sound like a big deal but considering I NEVER get 8As for any of my exams this year I am definitely over the moon. The fact that I only got like 4As 4Bs for trial even though my Bs were not below 75% but getting straight As was my personal achievement. Alhamdulilah I am so grateful for this AND MORE.

I thank Allah for this achievement and I am definitely blessed for having such amazing people around me.
I am very thankful for

> My beloved parents
Honestly, I doubt I'm the daughter any parents would be dreaming of. Probably because I have a very lazy ass and I rarely help them with any possible thing a daughter should be doing. But despite that, I believe they have always hoped for the best and getting a good result is the least thing any stubborn child can do to the parents. It's one of the many ways I could do to repay their never-ending sacrifices I owe to them. So, thank you for believing in me and for all the nagging I deserved. I will never stop asking for it.

> My grandma
Without this woman I don't think I would be the person I am today. All the sacrifices she made to make sure I get proper education for my future as well as the knowledge to prepare myself for the hereafter. She has always believe in my brothers and I to make her proud one day. That is the one promise I would try to achieve to repay for the lectures that she gave me every time I see her AND for the money, time and energy she spent for me.

> My teachers
Since kindergarten to secondary school, I have teachers who made my life better by giving me supports and great advice that had always been useful. For instance, when I was in standard 1, my English teacher- Mrs Becky literally dragged me to sit right in front of her because I was too small to sit at the back even though I could see the white board clearly from the back of the class. In a way, without her I don't think I would ever have any friends sitting alone or even concentrate from the back. And I thank her for that. Or the time I started to like sports because my PE teacher let me play even when I didn't know the rules. I enjoy sports but he made me love it.
I could list out more but I wouldn't torture your soul with my boring life.

> My backstabbers whom I love
I learn to make friends and love the misery of having people who pretend to like you or hang out with you for their own good and leave you once they got bored of you. But I still thank them for their care for making me a better person than before.

Basically, I am blessed for everyone I know and met. My PBSA family, my classmates since kindergarten, my relatives or whoever I met in any point of my life. And yes I am not lucky, I am blessed.

WARNING: This is from the point of view of a person who doesn't read books but is trying to start a reading habit.

Since the 6th of December, there was a sale held in MIECC, The Mines in Seri Kembangan. It was claimed to be "The World's Biggest Book Sale"... it's the BIG BAD WOLF SALE!!!!

Yeah so I obviously went there. FINALLY. After begging my parents for the whole of last week everyday after they arrived home from work. Well, glad it paid off. Now let me put the story in before, during and after parts of the sale, shall we?

BEFORE:
I Twitter-searched "Big Bad Wolf sale" beforehand to see if anyone posted pictures of books they've bought from the sale. Like I guessed, there were TONS of pictures like that posted on Instagram (mostly). That was like a survey for me to see what kind of books are available for sale so that it would give me some rough idea to what I should expect. Intentionally, I have been wanting to buy The Hunger Games trilogy or the Divergent trilogy because of the great reviews and feedback from readers. Well they are (or in Divergent's case, soon to be) a MAJOR MOTION FILM so there's no doubt of the well-written'ness' of the book. I saw their Twitter & FB page posted a pic of The Hunger Games trilogy on the preview day so I was kinda looking forward to that. I also searched on the Big Bad Wolf official website and found out that The Carrie Diaries and the sequel Summer in The City are gonna be available there so I added them into the 'books I'm buying' (imaginary) list.

The other book besides the ones mentioned that was in my list was "Lucy in The Sky" by Paige Toon. A book that I found out from the Twitter-search and it was said that Paige Toon's books are good so thought that I should give it a go.

DURING:
This process was unexpected at all. Since I came quite late (it was on the 2nd last night) MOST of the books were scattered literally all over the table. It hurts my eyes to just look for the books that were in my list. I came at around 12:30am and it feels like during the peak hours as the hall was fully-packed.

After tired of not finding the books that I wanted, I tried asking about 7 crews there for The Carrie Diaries series and only one of them actually knew the author (Candace Bushnell) but all of them said they've NEVER seen the book before. That was really disappointing as the title was listed on their website. I was just like /shock. I didn't actually bothered to look for The Hunger Games when I was there since I have a strong feeling they're no longer available and I think I was right. But luckily I found Lucy in The Sky so that kinda makes up to it because at least I found the one book that was in my list but still not very happy with the crews' answers.

AFTER:
So finally I came home with these beauties.

1) Lucy in The Sky by Paige Toon

2) Under The Never Sky & Through The Ever Night by Veronica Rossi

Under The Never Sky synopsis

Through The Ever Night synopsis
At first I saw the Through The Ever Night book at the young adult section and thought that it was one of the Divergent trilogy at the first look and when I saw the author's name believe me, my eyes were suddenly widen. I read "Veronica Ro- expecting it to be -th but it ended with -ssi. I mentally face-palmed and just left the book where I found it.
But as soon as I saw the Under The Never Sky book at the general fiction section, I went back to grab it. These are actually a trilogy but the 3rd book, Into The Still Blue was due out 2014. Hopefully I can finish reading these books by then.

3) The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern

Didn't have any intention in buying this book at first even though I've seen people walking home with it but after reading the synopsis I am actually looking forward to read it.

4) Can You See Me? by Ruth Gilligan

Saw this on the table full of books, attracted by the beautiful baby blue cover, read the synopsis, hooked and so it ended up following me home.

6) I HATE PEOPLE! by Jonathan Littman & Marc Hershon

Close-up of the contents.

Close-up of others' reviews
This book was from the Business section. I don't know how I ended at that part of the book sale, but the minute I read the title I was like /hmm "This is interesting...". And the minute I open the book and flip through the first few pages, I immediately started giggling and laughing to myself. I find it funny how true the statements in the book are.
Basically it's about how to deal with co-workers who are annoying. But the annoyance was explained detail in the book which I find entertaining. And knowing I'll be in that position some day, I guess this can also be the book for my age. Besides, it's a little twist than my other romance novels.
___________________________________________________

At the end of the day, I got back from the sale at 2:30am. I couldn't stay longer as my feet was aching and it was too crowded to look for more interesting books. Despite the fact that my parents can't wait for me any longer. I got home and burnt RM48 from my purse. Each book that I bought was RM8 if you were wondering. The sale is until 11:59pm today (15th of December) but I bet by the time you're reading this it's too late already so nvm.

P.S. I am just sharing my experience since it was my first Big Bad Wolf sale, if you find this post unhelpful at all then too bad /wahaha.

From the 2nd til 5th of December ago, I went to an annual school camp which is known as Kem Tahan Lasak (translated as 'Extreme Survival Camp' lol I just made that up but hopefully you get the picture). I went to this camp last year but mainly we played sports like volleyball, handball, futsal, kayak-ing and flying fox. This year there was a little twist because throughout the whole 4 days of camp we were handled by askar Wataniah (they're like back-up soldiers).

On the first day of camp itself, we have been treated like soldiers already. It felt like an army camp in a way. We even slept on a soldier bed (they called it as warden bed though), the ones that can be set up and without mattress. To help you city people imagine, think of it as the stretcher that paramedics use but in the colour of army-green and has legs like a bed.
Every morning there we did physical training (PT) which was very fun working out those muscles I never had. There are also some new experiences I've never had before throughout this year's camp.
For the first time I've...
- Been to an army camp.
- Clean the inside of a fish (specifically catfish).
- Ate a part of chicken that my friends slaughter and cooked.
- Went jungle trekking through deep inside an actual forest (well it's in a University region but forest is STILL A FOREST).
- Fishing using a pole made of a tree stem.
- Fishing in general.
- Went camping without a towel (never mentioned this to anyone throughout the camp but it's true that I forgot to bring a towel and survived 4 days without it).
- Goes to camp with friends who I planned to go with (usually I'll go to a camp without even knowing who else is going).
- Awarded the BEST group in camp.
- Only bring one small backpack, a small carry luggage bag and a sleeping bag. The least clothes I've ever brought to a camp.

I would story tell the camp activities and all but I don't think anyone would want to read that long and detail version so I'll just leave you with a group picture with all the 44 'cadets', teachers and facilitators.

Group shot!

A close-up in case you can't spot me. I'm the girl in blue shirt and black hijab btw.
P.S. Do you notice the dude in army pants and black tee at the front row in the group shot? Yeah everyone in camp seems to fangirl over him, but to be honest he reminds me of my primary school crush so badly. Every time I look at him I don't see the guy everyone at camp falls for, I see the guy I fell for back then. To any of my possible close primary school friends reading this, you'll know who I'm ranting about.

HEY HEY HEYYY!

I know it's been awhile since the last post (my sincere apology for my laziness). As you might know or might not know, school holidays had started! And it's gonna end in less than a month now... well, 3 more weeks to be exact. It's sad to think that way so I shall not. On the bright side we still got time before school re-opens yeeep >.<

Basically what have I been doing for the past 2 months...?
Let's see.

I have been learning to crochet through YouTube this holiday... It can be very confusing at times but y'know it's part of the learning process and so far I enjoy crocheting. If you're a beginner and wondering where to buy cheap acrylic yarn balls, try Daiso (a 100 Yen shop from Japan that sells everything for 100 Yen or RM5 each item). I bought my yarn balls and crochet hook there. The quality are fine but nothing much to expect for a RM5 item... it's great if you just starting to learn knitting or crocheting.

Moving on,

Sooo recently, I went to a private 1D event organised by Sony Music Malaysia. It's an album launching party for One Direction's newest album Midnight Memories. The theme was "pyjamas party" if you can't read the poster already. Sony conducted an Instagram contest where directioners were asked to post pictures describing their life and they'll pick 5 winners a day. Each winner can bring 4 friends along to the event.
So Ka Mun and I decided to try but we had no luck UNTIL one of the winner can't go so she post an Instavid saying she's letting someone else take her place. That's when Ka Mun saw her post and contacted her through fb. And so there we are enjoying ourselves.
Plus, I also met a new friend. She was one of my group mates during the party. She is the youngest in the group but the friendliest I must say. Here's a selfie of us ehehe. Meet Nysha, everybody!!! She's 14 but obviously taller than me sigh!

The next thing that happen was... wayyyy before the school holiday starts, one of the club that I joined at school (the Rukunegara club yeah I know lame... But at least we got to go overseas) had a trip to BRUNEI and so I went there along with 9 other students which include some of the form 3s who are Ka Mun, Nadhirah Ali, Afaf and Nurin (who was also our teacher-in-charge's daughter) while the rest are form 4s and one form 1.
Nothing much happened. We visited museums, two of their famous mosques- Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque- , the famous Kampung Ayer- which was the village on water- and we went to one of the school there which was SM Saiyyidina Hasan. The students at the school were all so friendly and treated us so well. We went for a school tour and we also had the chance to sit in a class together with them and experience their learning method.
It was a fun 3 days and 2 nights in Brunei. The country was very small but we managed to do many things and learn lots of things about their beautiful peaceful and historical country.
P.S. The food that we ate for the whole trip there was beyond our expectations. The trip definitely worth more than the RM200 we paid.

Here's one of the many souvenirs received.
And so the rest of my days I spent at home watching movies and TV shows online, some of it I had outings with my besties and going for some book sales. This school holidays won't be another waste of holidays so I'm intended to do more beneficial activities before it ends in 3 weeks.
P.S. My PMR result is out in 2 weeks (23rd December) I'm scared.

*Latest update: PMR result is out on the 19th. NOW I AM EVEN MORE TERRIFIED.

Melynn.

Hey hey hey... so I was suppose to study tonight but I don't feel like doing it (I never do feel like studying) and I just wanna share something with youuu - the people of the internet, my sketch of Malaysia's second Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak that I drew during my art class. I felt that it looks quite pretty so here you go.

He looks funny... I know I know.
Here's the book version and my version.

Book version (obviously right) and my version (left).
Hahah I know his face looks more square-ish than it actually is but overall (despite the fact my shading sucks) I think their resemblance is quite okay.

The reason we (my classmates and I) had to draw the picture of our Prime Minister is because since Malaysia's Independence Day is on August 31st, this is one of the competition that is going to be held among the Form 3s in my school. So this is kinda like a practice for us before the actual competition.

That's it in this post. See you in the next one!

Heyy! I planned to post something on last Sunday but I was fully occupied with the amount of work I had so I ended up posting it today. I don't think any of you know this (since I highly doubt any of my schoolmates would read this) but my school will be having our annual school play for 2013, from 4th until 6th of July entitled "Teater Muzikal Bawang Merah dan Bawang Puteh" translated as "Red Onion and Garlic The Musical".

The entrance ticket.
So basically I went to the first show which was on Thursday evening and guess what? I love it so much, from the veryy beginning til the very end. It was perfect. I would like to congratulate the teacher who puts the hardest effort on putting this play into a masterpiece. She is also my Malay language teacher who is... Puan Sabariah! But of course, the other teachers, crew, orchestra members, choir members and last but not least the actresses of SMK(P) Sri Aman for playing your parts so well and for making the play into a sweet success. I like how throughout the whole play there were lots of mixed emotions surrounding me.

Let me just try to summarize the whole 2 hours of play for you.

It started with a husband, Pak Ali who got married with two women, Mak Labu (who is the older wife) and Mak Kundur. Basically both of the wives were pregnant at the same time. Mak Labu gave birth to Merah (the protagonist) while Mak Kundur gave birth to Puteh (the antagonist). One day, after Merah and Puteh grew older their dad decided to go into the forest to look for something when a storm came and hit a tree. That tree somehow happened to fall onto Pak Ali and he died.

After that Mak Kundur (the bad wife) decided to kill Mak Labu (the nice wife) while she was washing her clothes at a well, Mak Kundur pushed her into the well. The thing is she didn't die yet. Merah, who were worried about her mother not returning home when it was almost dusk, fell asleep and had a dream about her mother saying that she died and turned into a fish after she fell into the well. Merah then was asked to bring some rice and veggie to the well to feed Mak Labu, who is now a fish. Without realising, Puteh was spying on her and when she found out about Mak Labu still alive she immediately told Mak Kundur about it. Then they went to the well and caught Mak Labu and cooked her (in fish form). When Merah got back from somewhere (maybe the well but that won't make sense cause Mak Kundur and Puteh was there after she left), Mak Kundur served Merah a fish with rice and told her that she can finish it all by herself. If you haven't figure it out already, the fish is Mak Labu. Yes, so Merah ate her own mother. Yay.

So Merah was an orphan living with her stepmother and stepsister. One day, Merah was singing at a garden when a prince passed by. He obviously heard a beautiful voice and asked his followers to find out about the girl. Then after some drama happened like when the prince's followers mistaken Puteh instead of Merah, the prince and Merah finally got married.

On one of the night after they got married, the king (or in this play Sultan) caught Merah and one of the prince's followers, Awang in a room... together... alone. The Sultan was angry and kicked Merah and Awang out of the village forever. It was then revealed by the prince that Puteh and Mak Kundur planned all of this and of course the Sultan became angry once more. But before he could sentence their punishments Merah defended her stepmother and stepsister so they were (unfairly) escaped from their punishments.

It ended when the Sultan held a royal event to welcome Merah back to the palace.

Can't believe I managed to summarize it. Btw, this play uses Malay language fully throughout the whole play. Also, the summary is BASED ON MY UNDERSTANDING and of course I didn't tell the WHOLE story but believe me I told you most of it.

Melynn.

Hey. Okay so I went on a vacation last weekend but since I reached home on Sunday night, I didn't get to share any story or experience about my trip. You can probably tell what I'm going to share with you from here.

Yeah so my family and I went to Cameron Highlands for Fathers' Day! Well it was actually planned by my dad himself though. It was technically my 2nd time I've been there. The first was when I was a few months old in my mum's belly... if that actually counts.
Anyway, we went there on Saturday the 15th and stayed there until Sunday the 16th. Btw, on the same Saturday it was also my school's annual Sport's Day (which I had to miss because of this trip).

Our hotel view from our car's parking spot.

That is basically where we stayed for 2 days and 1 night. Heritage Hotel. It was a nice and decent hotel. The rooms are comfortable and just simply relaxing.
This is where my parents and lil brother sleep for the night.
And this is mine and my elder brother's room.
My parents and lil brother sleep in a queen-sized bed while my elder brother and I sleep in another room with 2 single beds. Don't get this wrong, there's a door in between the two rooms so it wasn't really a 'private' room for any of us. The view from the room wasn't that much but it was mainly trees and deffo a sight for sore eyes.

Look at the relaxing view and the greenery hills!
Here are the 2 baboons breathing in some cool air from the balcony.
Later that evening, we went to one out of the many strawberry park there is in Cameron.

It wasn't cheap I must say.

If you notice there's sprinkles of (added) sugar at the side of the container.

I must admit that I'd tasted better ice-cream, but this is also quite okay.
After that, we went shopping a bit for some souvenirs at the night market.

My favourite purchase at the market. Even though, it's not mine.
That is also a birthday gift I bought for Eisyah since her birthday was on the 16th. I just thought, why not I buy her a customized souvenir from Cameron for her birthday and this is what I got! Pretty satisfied with it. Eisy, if you're reading this I HOPE YOU LIKE IT AS MUCH AS I DO!

The hotel view from outside during night time.
My total purchases for the night, as well as the whole trip.
I always wanted the strawberry slipper for myself. I know, lame... but I find it comfy okay so shut it. The rest are all souvenirs for "certain friends". They're fridge magnets. I just love fridge magnets idek why. The last time I went somewhere was early of this year which is Universal Studios Singapore (USS) and Legoland, Johor and I got my friends lego bricks which are also fridge magnets. Heh.

So the next day we went to MARDI (which is the abbreviation for Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute). It's basically just walking around looking at the many beautiful flowers and plants there.

20.9 degree Celsius that's how chilly Cameron was compared to the 30 degree Celsius in KL.

You definitely do not want to get lost here.

Notice anyone missing? *cough* me *cough*

Facts about different types of strawberries.

And again, I wonder who's missing eh?

I love the temperature. I wish KL could be this cold.

Trailing behind the boys.

Notice the tree actually forming a heart shape.

Stranded tortoise in the pond.

Then we went back to the hotel and pack our things up and get ready to leave the hotel. But before we actually leave Cameron there's one place we couldn't miss... the tea plantation! We went to Cameron Valley's tea plantation.

The two people who planned and decided to bring us here!

After going through all the tea bushes, finally... the peak!

Nothing much up here except for the cool breeze that can never be felt back in KL.

Casually standing in the middle like he owns the place.

The feeling of reaching the top (of the world).

That's the cafeteria, where people stop by to have a sip of different types of tea served.

He was just posing no hard feelings, plant lovers!
Btw, here's a short story for you people...

Once there was a boy, alone in the bushes.

One day a 'visitor' came by, looking for the boy.

The boy hid and kept hiding in the bushes.

After a while, the boy stood up (for idk what reason) and blew his cover  up.

At the end, the boy finally got caught.
That was a random story made up of random pics taken while they were playing hide-and-seek. There was a random circle in between of the bushes where my brother hid, if you noticed.

Saw a pathway below one of the bushes. Guess we're not the only people playing hide-and-seek around here.

Family photo!
Aha notice I'm standing on a higher ground and  it made me look slightly taller than my mum and brother.

The snacks we bought from the cafeteria there.
P.S. I mentioned about the place in one of the pictures taken above.
I ordered the chocolate tea which is in the white mug closest to the camera. It tasted just like hot cocoa tbh.

These are the other souvenirs bought by my family.
A scorpion amber which I find really cool and also unique.

I guess that is all for this entry. I uploaded so many pictures on this post. It was a great week and I wish I could stay there because the fact that they don't need air conditioners (since it's naturally cold there) was really relaxing and not to mention cool too.

Cheers!
Xx,
Melynn.
