Ahhh it feels so good to be jotting down my thoughts again.

Next week, I will soon begin my softball training for an upcoming tournament this November. Eeek, I'm excited to be back on the diamond!

I have been a player since Form 1 and that was about 5 good years ago. I remembered begging my mum to get me a pair of brand new football boots after qualifying myself in the school team. Ignoring the fact, I didn't even get to play for that same year when I got selected.

In softball (well at least in Malaysia), the field is basically football field, so that require us to wear football boots. The reason why is so we wouldn't fall easily or... to not sink in the muddy grass. Which happened plenty of times before... even with boots on lol.

My first ever boots was Adidas. A nice black base with gold-and-silver Adidas' signature stripes. It was pretty cheap, plus I got a free bag with it. By cheap I mean around RM150. Tbh, investing a lot of money into boots for mere softball weren't such a pleasant thought for me (and my mum) at that time. I was simply trying out back then. I wasn't planning to stick around for long. Afraid that I couldn't, rather than wouldn't. That's why we grabbed the cheapest one we could afford.

Look how crippled it looked omo

Oh, how things had turned out too well for me. Alhamdulillah.

I managed to stick around softball since 2011 and better thing was, my boots managed to survive those 5-hardcore-training-years throughout all the annual MSSD tournaments. Talk about good investment.

Sadly, it's finally here. The time for my boots to end its service all this while. The sole came out and the cobbler said it can no longer be fixed.

This particular pair of boots had witnessed life-changing moments I had while being on the field - the joy, the stress, the cries, everything. If anything else, they're like my lucky charm.

Now, I officially got it replaced. With a nameless brand haha /sweat

Yesterday, I went to a sports warehouse-like place named DECATHLON located at Bandar Sri Damansara. If you've never heard of it... same. It was the first time I heard of their existence too.

Bcos I am leaving for Melaka, we were urgently in need of a cheap alternative, especially when my parents and I initially just wanted to send it to a cobbler. Our budget were tight so my dad found out about that place which he heard sells really cheap sports equipment and clothing.

When we reached there... HELL-TO-DA-DAMN!!! /shock

Everything was so friggin affordable, my jaw almost dropped. There was a lot of variety as well. There was almost all sports-related item you could possible think of like clothes, pants, swimming suits, bags, shoes, yoga mats, goggles, bicycles, skates, roller blades, archery set... well you name it! Not to mention, for cheap prices!

Anyway, I got what I came for - a pair of boots! YAY! It was for RM65 ONLY. WOW. But since it's a nameless brand, we'll just see how long it'll last me hahah.

Pretty nice for a cheapskate, huh?

Back to business. Back to uni. Back to reality. Hoping I don't mess up the second-half of my semester.

These past few weeks, I have been receiving all sorts of first impressions from people about myself. Therefore with this blog post, I am documenting it.

For 3 times in a week, I have been asked whether I am from... Sabah(?)

I get it... It's the way I talk YES. But Sabah though? I asked my Sarawak-ian friend if she thought of the same thing and she said my accent sounds "verrrryyy little bit similar to Sabah"

HAIYAA TAK LA TU  -_-"

Oh and also regarding my accent (takde pun sebenarnya 'accent' bagai, bunyi slang je lebih psftt), someone asked me if I'd ever lived abroad before. Demn boi, me wish me had! It'd made me sound really cool if I ever did. Unfortunately, no.

About my appearance, confidence aaand the way I... walk(?), I have been asked whether I am from SBP school a couple of times and I am curious about smtg... Do. I. Look. Like. I'm. Smart? First interview MRSM pun tak lepas weh. Tah tah selection nama nak pergi interview pun takde dalam senarai.

Now what is Amelynn, without a little softball story. /hmm

I have been told by someone that people from the softball team was wondering why I refer to myself using 'I' and 'you' instead of 'saya' and 'awak' or 'aku' and 'kau' like how people from Selangor/ KL usually talks. And the assumption that they made was maybe bcos... I am from a girls' school? They said that must be why. Tbh, not too sure myself. Hmm yeke???

Also, literally everyone who've seen me throw and catch the ball could tell that I was previously a catcher. THEY ALL COULD TELL. Even recently, a guy who was observing asked whether I was a catcher then when I said yes he said "Oh, patutlah"

PATUTLAH, GUYS PATUTLAH!!!

I was honestly ain't tryna brag but damn, you can picture how I must've overly-reacted to the point it made me stood out that much lool. I was blending in ok. Trust me. I tried to.

Next is regarding my name.

IS 'AMELYNN' TOO LONG GUYSS?? I'm guessin yes. People always wanna make it shorter. Mostly prefers 'Lynn' for short. It's too common, I feel weird haha. However, I'm thankful as it is for I am acknowledged by others.

But problem is, I have a busybody lecturer who digs out and memorise our personal info he got from our student records. He is one of our Academic Advisor btw so he can access everyone's records. Not lying but for less than a month now, he is THE ONLY lecturer who memorised each and everyone of our names AND which group we are divided to.

Anyway, he knows me as 'Izzaty'. The only person who calls me by that name.  Really now? It's not enough that my student card has that name written on instead of 'Nuramelynn'... WHICH made me wonder, isn't it more common to use first names in Malaysia?! He uses that name in class for a few times but after sometime, I went straight-up like "Jangan panggil nama tu" and he questioned me back "Eh, awak bukan Izzaty ke?" then I was like yes I am, but... he interrupted, "Habis nak panggil apa?" so I quickly said "Panggil la Amelynn. Panggil Izzaty nanti tak terpandang pulak"

MEMANG BETUL PON.

"Jadi kenapa ada Izzaty?"

"Sebab supaya nama tak pendek sangat. Izzaty tu kira nama 'hiasan' je. Takde orang pun panggil nama tu"

"Oh la... (when I thought he finally understood)

Tapi biar la saya sorang panggil awak nama tu"

/no /no /no

Now, he calls me by both names. Great.

In the end, that's my experience with new people. Hope that story was well-understood. Btw, mid-sem break IS HERE!! Semester 1 have been exactly a month! Seems like my limit here is only a month bcos there's always a break or holiday after a month. Hahah adios~

Hola everyone /hihi

As a Computer Science student, I understand the need to own Microsoft Visio in your own PCs. And sometimes, for free and almost effortlessly. ME TOO. I personally just finished installing and cracking everything by myself. Now, I'm here to share my profound discovery LEGGO!

STEP 1

Installation, duh.

Where and how to install? Firstly, since I am downloading whatever that is from the internet using my university's wifi, it's most likely that many websites are blocked for being 'illegal' or to prevent virus and whatnot. So, if you are facing a similar situation. Here's what I did.

Click here to go to the website. Then scroll down til you see all these download links.

Ok, so from here. Initially, you need to share either via Twitter, Facebook or Google+. Then a download would automatically starts. Click here (in case you aren't caring enough to 'share').

The file that I downloaded is a Visio 2013 64-bit btw. You can go to the link for the 32-bit.

STEP 2

What's the product key? How to activate it?

For this step, I found a product key that worked up until the activation process. The product key was valid but later on, not(?) Idk what happened but no problem was solved.

If you're curious, here's the product key THAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME!!!

 MT7YN-TMV9C-7DDX9-64W77-B7R4D

I got it from a video's description box (clickable). The instruction is also included and I did try the phone call method. But the Confirmation ID itself is said to be invalid, so that for sure can't be help.

After the first trial didn't work, I needa look for another valid product key but to no avail. Instead, I found another method from another video (clickable).

In the video, you need to go to their website here (clickable) and download KMSAuto Lite Portable TEST4 (clickable) as shown in the video. The rest you basically gotta extract the RAR file and click the 'bla bla bla Office' button then it will do all the cracking for you til it's written COMPLETED!!

FINALLY

NOW, YOUR VISIO 2013 IS COMPLETELY ACTIVATED!!

Disclaimer: No video, downloads or files shared were mine. I am only here to spread the word.

I hope you find this self-experience method useful. Any inquiries just comment, the comment sections are pretty dead yknow haha :D

Ranting on Twitter isn't fun.

Mostly bcos I love to write shit load of unnecessary details muahahaha /wahaha

This post is dedicated to my deadliest a.k.a the busiest Saturday (15th Oct 2016) of my uni life. Briefly, I have 3 events planned for that day...

1. 'Running Lestarian'
2. Softball training
3. 'Feeding The Homeless'

Program 1 and 3 are those organized by JAKSIS, while softball is an additional interest... like you didn't know already lol /nobigdeal

So they all happened pretty consecutively... one-by-one... on the same day... almost non-stop.

RUNNING LESTARIAN

Hopefully, the name gives a little hint. The 'Running' comes from the obvious... Running Man (RM) like PSFTT, WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED??

'Lestarian' bcos it is organised by a student body for the residential college known as Lestari. And basically the idea of the program is similar to RM. Also called explorace btw. This program is held around Bandar Hilir, Melaka. We have 4 checkpoints excluding the starting and ending locations, and I am in-charged of one of the checkpoints along with my 2 other friends. The checkpoints are Menara Taming Sari (starting point), Stadthuys, Muzium Samudera, A' Famosa and Dataran Pahlawan (ending point). Running Lestarian took up my whole morning til afternoon.

Say hello to our participants (aka cute boys :p)
Building of Stadthuys as one of our checkpoint
The throw-and-catch-20-chopsticks game

And here's my checkpoint... Pretty quiet huh?

Before that eventful day, we had a last-minute preparation the previous night. I slept at 3am that 'night' after we concluded the meeting at 2.30am. Then I had to force myself up by 6, since we are gathering at 6.45am (so they said #janjiMelayu).

Sooo yeah, 6am til 3pm of waking hours with barely 3 hours of sleep. Guh-reat!

SOFTBALL TRAINING

Then that evening I was having softball training at 5pm. I took what-supposingly-be-a-few-minutes-nap. However, I woke up an hour later thanks to a friend who called asking why am I not out yet lol. I woke up exactly at 5pm but like... no one is that on time anyway, so I kinda took my own sweet time and met up with that friend at around 5.20pm #sorrynotsorry. We walked to the softball field which took us about 10 mins if we speedwalk. I caused her to be late just bcos she waited for me. Oops.

Softball training usually end late. Bcos the coach wanted to make-up for the time when everybody is late. We will only stop playing as soon as Azan Maghrib can be heard. We rested til the Azan stopped and had a short meeting regarding our next training or the next tournament before heading home. I'll usually reach home at around 7.30pm.

That day I remembered going up to my room by then. Washed up, prayed and didn't even have time to munch dinner before going back downstairs for the next program.

FEEDING THE HOMELESS

I was exhausted af. I pretty much stayed quiet throughout the whole journey to the city. The car that I stayed in was undeniably fun. The boys were funny but I was just too dang tired to laugh. And this time was before the event even started....

During the event, I'm not surprised if people think I was having mood swings. Welp, that's what exhaustion does to me. One moment I'm all laugh and smiles then the next I'm all silent and distanced. Don't worry, it's just another episode in my life. Used to be pretty rare, but now it's happening quiet often - PMS, they said.

Then this event ended at 2.30am, but we were all hungry after the long walk. Especially me. I was complaining so much lol. My only dinner was Cream-O strawberry jam tart biscuit.

BUT ACTUALLY KAN, THAT WAS ONLY A FILLER... NOT DINNER!!! /sweat

Anyway we reached home at 3am. I was thoughtless so I walked straight for my bed. JAKSIS had another program that morning. However, after waking up at 7.30am and showered, I took another nap... which ended up becoming a looong deeper slumber. The second time I opened my eyes again was noon. The program probably ended, I assumed. So, I didn't go lol. BAD EXAMPLE GUYS! DON'T FOLLOW WHAT I DID!

All in all, this is the start to my hectic life... We all can tell. I am now too tired to even do my assignments when I got home. However, I am gaining more in the aspect of working as a team and dealing with different kinds of people which is my main purpose for joining these things - to get money-can't-buy experiences.

More recognised faces around campus with less brain capacity to memorise everyone's names ha ha ha. Though the familiarity can sometimes be a bother, figuring out where the hell have I seen those people...

Despite that, I just gotta get my life sorted out a bit. So that's all for this update. Til my next free time! God knows when....

Since it's been awhile since I blogged, I actually have SO MANY THINGS TO STORY. But it's pretty hard reliving the moments after all the feels had vanished. Anyway, I'll just cover what has been surrounding the major part of my mind right now to make up for the unsaid things.

JAKSIS

I explained about my first interview about it on a blog post before. Click here if you wanna know how it went.

Roughly, JAKSIS is a student body or an organsiation based for students of the residential area in UTeM. It's an abbreviation for Jawatankuasa Kolej Kediaman Siswa/Siswi. I was still club-less so I figured, I NEED to be active in something and coincidentally JAKSIS came about.

After my first interview, my confidence level skyrocketed so high up that I knew I was gonna pass the next interview as well. 2 days passed and the second interview took place. It was on Thursday. Now before any further explanation, let me explain how my Thursdays are scheduled like;

Morning til evening, I have 8 hours of class consisting of 1 lecture and 3 tutorial classes for a day. That means 2 hours of each class with 4 different lecturers for 4 different subjects and ONLY AN HOUR BREAK. Only bcos lunch exist. Bless lunch time! And prayer time!!

Last class was scheduled to end at 6pm. Rationally, class won't usually end on time. So by the time I performed Asar, walk back home and shower... It's night in the blink of an eye.

I barely had the time to rest after class that day, then I received a phone call reminding me about the interview soon after. Honestly, my energy was drained. Even before I went for the interview.

Later in the discussion room I found out, this second interview isn't one-to-one but instead it's a mass interview. They wanted to see the way we generate ideas, our capability of speaking as well as explaining those ideas but most importantly, who can survive and who will sink among the big crowd. I'll be frank, I was quiet most of the time. Probably bcos I just needed a rest. We were given problem statements and are asked to share our opinions. Throughout an hour or so, imagine me nodding to every ideas without uttering a single word.

I wasn't the only silent one though. Thank God.

Quick at his thought, the headmaster of Lestari residential area - who were conducting the discussion-like interview, requested those who haven't spoke or have been inactively participating to admit ourselves and stand up. Then, I stood up. He asked why haven't we been speaking. At that point, I was thoughtless. I had no idea of what kind of excuse to make up... so I sounded very simple and boring. I almost gave up on joining JAKSIS to be honest. The interview ended super late. It was probably 11pm or so, if I wasn't mistaken. ME DIED. MENTALLY.

That was the last interview and I knew I had no chance of being part of the exco. A senior of mine advised me earlier that if I were to end up as the lowest subordinate (a.k.a rakan exco), better not be at all. Bcos of the big workload and the little recognition is what she meant.

As time approaches for the results to be revealed at the end of that week, I have yet to receive any congratulatory messages. The answer was pretty clear then.

I went to the beach that weekend with a couple of seniors and friends. We spent the entire evening there til night fall. However at around 7pm, a message was sent to the whatsapp group consisting of other applicants for JAKSIS. The message is from our headmaster and it goes something like;

"To those who haven't receive any personal message from me, please PM and give a little word of commitment to show your willingness and passion for JAKSIS"

I felt stuck in between. I didn't know whether I should respond to his callings or to ignore? Do I really want to be in or was it just a brief thought? Which is the better way out, or is there really a way out? Should I just admit that I gave up trying? Bcos at that time, giving up seems to be the best way out.

However, I thought of respect and some sense of guilt follows. The wrong feeling of trying to cut ties especially when I had a good intention for the approach in the first place. I felt bad. It took me one whole hour before deciding to send him my words of commitment which looks like a short essay of what I'd say 'ayat berlapik'. I didn't know whether I was trying to push myself to be or not be part of the exco through that kind of message lol.

Later towards midnight, I received a message from my headmaster saying I GOT IT! I AM NOW PART OF THE 27 EXCOS!!! I got what I wanted. It wasn't even that challenging though. What made him choose me though? What qualifications did I even show? It was a shocker. It was both expected and unexpected. Expected bcos my first interview went great, but unexpected bcos it went downhill and I've been slacking.

So yeahh despite the unworthiness, I've became part of JAKSIS! Here's to more overloading workload. I secured myself as the VICE SECRETARY... bcos I love to write reports and I trust myself that I can write better. Ha ha ha ye la sangat.

Anyway that's all for now. I wanted to write more about the bonding program that were held and how much I feel belonged or how the people are so fun to be around with and whatnot. But it'll just be draggier than it already is, so I shall save that for later :D

For now, here's a pic of us (missing 2 out of the 27 people)...
