Famous variety shows like Running Man, I Live Alone or Knowing Bros, are really not that intriguing to me. I'm not saying they're any less funny, like heck they're funny and entertaining alright. However, I usually watch things for the same people and when they have too many guests, it appeals less to me. I'll just pick and choose some episodes instead of watching and sticking through all of it. 

Often times, I watch those variety shows for the guests, instead of the casts. Therefore, I never felt a sense of connection with the casts. That is why I never had a thing for variety shows. 

With that being said, '2 Days 1 Night' (or "1박2일") hits differently. Especially Season 4! 

In case you aren't familiar, '2 Days 1 Night (2D1N)' is a variety show where they will go to different parts of South Korea and will stay there for 2 days and 1 night. They will usually play games along the way based on the theme for that episode. There's also games for every meal time and if they lose, they can't eat for that meal and continues to fight for the next meal game. Different place have different special food so that's where this show promotes each of the place's charm. For every trip, they also play a game to decide whether they will be sleeping indoor or outdoor, so it's really about survival. They had to sleep outside if they lose, despite the weather. The next morning, those who fail the morning game have to do an extra labour work in the area whereas the winners will be heading home. This pretty much sums up the entire show. 

At first, I started watching 2D1N when Yoon Si Yoon became the member halfway through Season 3. Yeah, he was pretty much the reason I started. I had a thing for Yoon Si Yoon back then. But I only binge watched the clips of 2D1N on KBS World's YouTube channel. The casts were hilarious and the thing about this show is that they rarely, if not never, have guests so it's all just the same people in every episode. 

I also enjoyed watching Jung Joon Young in 2D1N last time. Obviously, everything took a turn when the Burning Sun scandal happened which was literally centred around Jung Joon Young. 2D1N Season 3 was literally ruined by it. I was lowkey disappointed and sad that it had to end so abruptly like it did. 

Then recently, 2D1N Season 4 resurfaced on my YouTube feed with Kim Seon Ho on the thumbnails! You have no idea how much I adore that man, I literally watch everything with Kim Seon Ho in the thumbnail HAHAH. The more I watch, the more recent the dates of upload were and I realised I'm literally watching recent videos which is unusual cos I'm usually almost a year late lol. 

The casts of this season are so innocently entertaining. Compared to the last season, this season have so many charming people in it. And they're all pretty young compared to the veterans in the previous season. Alongside Kim Seon Ho, the youngest and the oldest are honestly baes too. Ravi and Yeon Jung Hoon are so attractive and to think that this is a variety show makes it more fun. 

If Season 3 was like a war every time they play games, Season 4 have more camaraderie when it comes to playing games. Kim Jong Min who have been in all 4 seasons of 2D1N is almost seen like the angel for always getting bullied before. In this season, even Jong Min admits that he had never met such nice people in this show throughout his 12 years of experience. Honestly, I can feel that the vibe really is different from the previous season. They are really Jong Min's kind of people and I love them for that. 

Seon Ho's personality is so adorable. How can one be so innocent and thoughtless at the same time? His pure innocence shines so much in this season and it's such a heartwarming sight. Such a down to earth man. No wonder he received so much love from 2D1N as it is. 

Ravi and DinDin who are both rappers are almost like from different poles of the world considering how different they can be. Even without saying much, Ravi is still so funny and DinDin who is also the maknae-line is such a bully, which is so unexpected 😂

Such a good idea when they decided to cast 2 actors, 2 rappers, 1 comedian and 1 veteran who is also the most remarkable 2D1N cast for this season. The fact that the rapper is also an idol makes it way more exciting to watch! The new PD seems to be gutsy and it's so funny to see them being scared of her too. 

I have new hopes for 2D1N Season 4 and I hope with this new casts, it will be a fresh start to everyone involved. 

It's nice to see young and attractive casts like this. It's also nice as they aren't all that famous so they are all very humble and such newbies in this variety environment. Probably the first variety show I'll ever be rooting for. Go Season 4!!
