A step towards the pedal
As a record I went to take the computer test for my driving license today. I know I am a bit late than most of my batch mates, but then I'm not that far behind also.
This test is known as KPP01 and it is just one-third of the whole process. By the whole process, I meant up until JPJ test which is the real driving test to get the Probationary Drivers License (PDL) that would last for 2 years. After then only you'll get your Competency Drivers License aka your REAL license.
Anyway, so my story bout this test is that I was initially supposed to hv taken this test on 31st Dec but bcos of some complication I was asked to postpone it. In the end, I got this slot and yeah. But even though it has been awhile since I took the theory class, tbh I studied only like once back when I thought I was doing it on the 31st. This very morning is the other time I opened my book to actually study as early as 4.30am. Trying to cramp the infos and facts in wasn't really a success. However my 3 hours of textbook reading ended with me not remembering anything, literally.
I had to be at the KJ branch for the pick-up at 8.30am but well unfortunately I missed it. Let's just say that morning ain't really a bright one. I called the driver and had to wait for another 30mins until he showed up to pick me. In that time, I decided to scan through the exercise book that was given which basically consists of replicated questions from the test. It is actually the same technique I use to study last minute for my school exams as well haha woops.
As soon as I arrived, it was a really quick process of showing my IC, snap a pic for my license and putting away my things. Literally it took about 5 mins or so until I am seated in the room among others who are taking the test. I didn't even had to wait. Cutting to the chase, the 45mins given for the test allowed me to casually answer every single one and checking through each and every question without rush. I ended my test with 10mins remaining.
Unfortunately, a boy who came in the same ride with me wasn't allowed to even sit for the test. Well, boys are supposed to wear collared shirt with shoes and long pants but this dude wore a turtleneck shirt instead. Even after I am done, I still saw him sitting outside lol. I was lucky my scarf was allowed tho there was white in it. Mostly bcos the blue pattern can be seen more I guess.
In the end, as a result I PASSED YAS. I didn't expect to though. I even brought extra cash in case I had to retake. But Alhamdulillah I didn't have to, jimat sikit duit.
If I were to give you any tips, just focus well on your theory class and jot down whatever you understand from it. Trust me you'll fall right asleep the minute the speaker speaks if you don't. And make sure to go through your textbook up until the end of the KPP01 section. Focus more on the road sign, the road situations and the demerit system. Last one is try downloading the test app. Apparently I found this out from the turtleneck boy while on the way there and didn't even get to use it. But if you need to, go to the playstore and search 'KPP Test'. All the best if you're taking the test any time soon.
